From parking permits to social assistance applications: municipalities send thousands of messages to citizens every day. This happens through hundreds of different systems, each with its own style and method. The Municipality of The Hague decided that things had to change and was one of the first municipalities to implement NotifyNL: an open-source notification component that ensures uniform, reliable communication with residents and businesses. Vincent van Beek, Chief Product Owner of the Service Platform at the Municipality of The Hague, says: “With NotifyNL, you have access to a global open-source facility for notifying your residents and entrepreneurs, with guaranteed ongoing development.”

COC is working with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Power of Pride partners in Africa and Asia to create a diverse and inclusive society for LGBT+ people.

In this alliance, the partners and COC Netherlands are working to support and strengthen local advocacy organisations in 22 countries around the world to improve the legal status of LGBT+ people. Although the details vary from country to country, there is a strong focus on knowledge sharing and decision-making between partners and affiliated organisations. This includes large high-profile initiatives like rallies in support of better rights. As well as smaller, impactful initiatives like appointing a confidential advisor or setting up a safe space where individuals can come together and share their experiences.

A choice was made to digitise and centralise the monitoring process by launching an online platform that would make the impact of global initiatives more visible, provide better advice to partners, and increase cooperation and knowledge sharing between the organisations.

It’s a user-friendly tool for planning, evaluating and tracking the development of initiatives aimed at creating a diverse, inclusive society.

AXA Health recognised that there was a demand for clear and easily accessible healthcare resources that would support individuals to manage their own health and be the best version of themselves. Their idea was to create a health and wellbeing app that offered access to a variety of expert-led programmes in areas such as sleep, mindfulness and fitness, along with a suite of self-care services, such as health age calculators and mental health assessments. The app would support their wellbeing proposition for corporate clients, and open up new market opportunities for individuals beyond just private medical insurance. WORTH partnered with AXA to bring their vision to life, and to provide the technical and product expertise needed to turn their innovative idea into a go-to market solution.

Kroodle was an initiative of Aegon, one of the world’s leading insurance companies. The Kroodle team launched innovative insurances using data to provide lower insurance premiums. Worth was tasked to collaborate with the Kroodle team and develop a web application that would capture essential data as part of the purchasing process.

Aegon recognised the need to offer a secure, easy-to-use product that would appeal to the social media generation. The goal was to interest prospects in a new way of applying for insurance and motivate them to share the data client needed in a social, but secure way.

Cambridge Assessment is an international exams body who deliver assessments, qualifications and tests in 170 countries to over 100 million learners. They wanted to transform their approach to delivering new digital products in order to keep up with industry disruptors who were taking advantage of the modern internet approach. With legacy technology, and lack of design thinking and product delivery methods, the team needed a partner to help them transform.

Increasingly globalised economies, the rise of budget airlines and digital nomadism, have increased travel and trade opportunities for those with a thirst for adventure or an eagerness to do business beyond borders.

The Netherlands in particular have seen an increase in tourist and business travellers, with short-stay visas issued by the Netherlands increasing sharply in the period 2011-2017 by more than 45 percent to 621,000 per year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) wished to transform their paper-based Schengen Visa application process to a digital one, to streamline and improve the process by which foreigners apply for entry visas to the Schengen countries.

The Diplomatic ePortal is an online system for registering staff members at foreign missions and intergovernmental organisations (such as the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, Europol and the European Space Agency). The Netherlands hosts more than 100 embassies and 22,000 foreign employees of these organisations. 

The personal data these individuals provide needed to be transferred to a highly secure internal digital system, which would significantly expedite a formerly paper-based process.

NWO funds thousands of top researchers at universities and institutes and steers the course of Dutch science by means of subsidies and research programmes. The Hague is home to many public events each year: cultural festivals, markets, and more. Citizens or organisations who want to organise events on their own property or in public areas, must submit a request for a permit to host the event. The permit needs to include a map illustrating the event's layout as well as its facilities.

The Municipality of the Hague wished to transform the process for applying for such a permit. Functionality and user-friendliness were the top priorities.

The demographic composition of Dutch villages, cities and regions is changing, and so too is the demand for services and public institutions, complicating the planning process. 

Commissioned by Public Result, the Transition Atlas is an important tool for exploring this balance. With it, senarios created reflect the impact that future facilities can offer. The scenarios then promote discussion with stakeholders, and from them, business cases developed to explore operational consequences. By granting access to open data, regional planning authorities can predict the impact that individual choices will have on demand for local services.

Container terminals around the world use TBA's software to automate their fleet management. Such terminals are a 24/7 flurry of activity aimed at loading and unloading shipping containers as efficiently as possible. Colossal cranes are controlled remotely by workers in an onsite office. Trucks are driving everywhere; there are traditional lorries, but also plenty of self-driving models without cabs.

TBA Group supplies the software that controls all these vehicles, to get every container right where it needs to be. TBA's development teams work every day to optimise this software for customers, add new features and develop new integrations.
