The two year contract has been commissioned as part of a longer term digital transformation programme to harmonise the funding process for the 9 different research councils within UKRI, streamlining the process for applicants, assessors and administrators, and making it more efficient to roll out up to £8bn of annual funding for the UK innovation sector.

Over the last seven years, Worth has worked with government grant providers Innovate UK and Eureka to better understand the internal and external customer needs, and to build and deploy modular cloud services that are highly adaptable to changing circumstances. This agility was highly effective in allowing the UK Government to launch Covid-19 business support grants within tight timeframes.

Mark McNally, CEO and co-founder of Worth said: “We’re really pleased to be partnering with UKRI at such a critical time. We look forward to supporting them as they build a system that will sustain and grow research and innovation through the provision of grant funding.”
Anne Sofield, UKRI Simpler and Better Funding Programme Director said: “We’re looking to make a real difference to our users, and our colleagues at WORTH play a critical role in ensuring the voices of researchers and innovators, administrators and our staff are heard. User feedback will be the true test of whether we have succeeded, and WORTH have a great track record in research and design to help us achieve this.”

Worth is a specialist digital agency that offers technical and leadership direction to enterprise businesses. They deliver digital transformation, full stack software engineering, cloud-based technology, mobile applications, and design and research services.
